Work Experience opportunities

As part of the events underway to celebrate 20 years of devolution, the Welsh Government is launching its ‘Work Inspiration’ programme for young people from Wales.

Up to 100 Year 10 pupils from secondary schools across Wales will be given the chance to undertake three days’ work experience with the Welsh Government from July this year. The Welsh Govt want to inspire young people to consider a career with the civil service, as well as give them valuable workplace experience.

Are you in 6th form and interested in becoming a medic? Oncology training Wales have a fantastic opportunity for work experience this July.

The work experience programme comprises of five days’ placement in Velindre Cancer Centre. This is for Sixth Form students who wish to pursue a career as a medical doctor only.

During this time, you will shadow a medic and have specialist teaching with our highly skilled staff in areas such as cancer treatments and clinical skills.

If you would like to apply for work experience, please use the online application and we will reply with your next steps. In all cases, an occupational health check will have to be completed.

Due to the sheer volume of applications we receive, this form will only be available until 2.30pm, Friday 7th June 2019.

The first cohort of work experience will commence the week beginning 22nd July 2019 and the second cohort will commence the week beginning the 29th July 2019.

Applicants are very strictly shortlisted and spaces are very limited so early application is advised. Applicants MUST be over 16 years old at the time of placement.
