By teaching our children to cook they are more likely to grow up to be healthy adults because they have a better knowledge of cooking techniques, preparing food and new tastes.

In St John Baptist, Food Technology is taught as part of the Design & Technology carousel in a limited amount of time. In Key Stage 3 pupils will have Food Technology in Year 7 & 8, they can then opt to continue with GCSE Home Economics: Food & Nutrition or GCSE Catering in Key Stage 4.

We are very keen to encourage our pupils to cook at home, therefore, each month we will publish a healthy and seasonal dish for you and your children to try at home.
