St John's Does "Children In Need"

Posted on: 15/11/2024

Pupils and staff at St John's have shown their support for Children In Need, with a variety of events that have raised a staggering £3,406.

The Charity Committee coordinated a pupils and staff walk/run at Aberdare Park on Thursday 14th November 2024. The completed walk/run spanned approximately eight-miles. Pupils/staff were greeted by members of the public, who donated generously towards the worthy cause.

On Friday 15th November 2024, the whole-school community took part in a non-uniform day and, for sixth form students and staff, this was an invitation for 'fancy-dress'. Whilst many of the sixth formers were reluctant to have their pictures taken, the staff were very keen!

Children in Need plays a vital role in supporting disadvantaged children and young people across the country, ensuring they have access to essential resources and opportunities for a brighter future. The funds raised today will make a significant contribution to help others in need, to support projects within communities that support with health, education and wellbeing.

Thank you to the St John's community for the generosity, both for the kind donations and for the spirit in participating with the activities throughout the past two-days.
