Forced School Closure - Thursday 25th June 2026
Posted on: 25/06/2026Following careful consideration and further review of our risk assessment this morning, school will be forced to close to all students and staff on Thursday 25th June 2026.
Please be assured that this decision has not been taken lightly. We have explored all possible measures to maintain a safe environment. However, the current extreme weather conditions are beyond our control, and the safety and wellbeing of our school community must remain our priority. Our primary concern has been our inability to reduce or sustain safe working temperatures within classrooms.
With a red warning in place, we strongly recommend that students remain indoors and out of the sun. This is particularly the case at peak times. While the school will be physically closed, it will transition to remote learning. Work will be provided via Google Classrooms, and students should follow their usual timetable as closely as possible.
School will be open on Friday 26th June 2026. For Friday and the whole of next week, pupils may continue to wear physical education uniform to ensure they feel comfortable in lessons as the temperatures get back to a normal level.
